After Recording with Grammy Award-Winning Engineer Ryan Freeland, Diamond is Back at Work for his Next Full-Length Release

May, 2016 (New York, NY) —  It seems that musician Dave Diamond never stops progressing in the music scene. As the front-man of the Dave Diamond Band, Diamond will be busy this summer flaunting his mature and finely crafted blend of rootsy americana, funk, and classic singer-songwriter rock to multiple cities throughout the United States.

Dave Diamond’s successful career in music spans more than twenty years. A prolific singer/songwriter and session musician, Dave has recorded and performed as a solo artist and with his own band as well as with an array of other talented and acclaimed musicians such as Bob Weir, Donna Jean Godchaux, Robert Randolph, Derek Trucks, and Oteil Burbridge.

Diamond has been featured in Modern Drummer and Drum Magazine, and is equally comfortable in abstract and complex musical terrain as evidenced by his contributions to Blow Up Hollywood, the art rock collective led by Steve Messina, and the musical catalogue of poet NYC poet/ songwriter Alan Semerdjian.

While it’s true that most of Diamond’s career has been spent helping shape the jam band scene in North America, it would be foolish to categorize his work as derivative of any one genre. It reveals a wide range of influences from contemporary indie rock, to late 60s/early 70s Laurel Canyon rhythms and inflections, to the funk of James Brown, and even a dose of latin and afro pop. Due to these influences, his sound never fails to resonate for both the casual listener and those who have a more discerning palette.

Diamond currently plays with bands Assembly of Dust, Bad Pony, Sailing Shoes, Blow Up Hollywood, Alan Semerdjian, and Jam Stampede. This summer, however, Diamond will be touring to promote his newest full length release with The Dave Diamond Band, which will feature Jason Crosby (Phil Lesh, Bob Weir, Robert Randolph), Jeff Mattson, Rob Barraco (Dark Star Orchestra, Zen Tricksters, Phil Lesh) and Jessie Wagner (Kid Rock, Lenny Kravitz) among other notable names in the industry.

The Dave Diamond Band features Victoria Faiella on vocals and percussion, Craig Privett on bass, Ray Hauck on percussion, Adam Polatov on drums, Tom Sam Filippo on guitar, and Mike DiMeo on the keyboard. Diamond, who is producing the newest album himself along with Chris Layborne, leads the band playing guitar and vocals. The current album “Trois” will be the 26th in Diamond’s ever-growing discography and the 5th that highlights his own material exclusively, with notable songs such as “Little Things,” “Here In The Summertime,” “Let It Go,” and “Breaking Hearts.”

Diamond is clearly a musician’s musician through and through, highly respected by his fans and critics alike. With a wide palette of tastes for different music, Dave’s passionate drumming and percussion reflects his many different influences. With that said, it is evident that Diamond’s work will be reflected accordingly to make each performance this summer exceptional and enticing for every listener.
