MontclairWaxx Kickoff Show at Amityville Music Hall
A music studio based in St. James, NY, Montclair Records took shape in 2013 when childhood friends Billy Hanley, Michael Lazarus, & Jayson Klein came together to turn their love of music into a creative team designed to help further the careers of up-and-coming artists & musicians. A lifelong musician with a B.A. in Music and Sound Recording from the prestigious University of New Haven Music Program, Hanley played in a number of ensembles throughout high school and college including Marching Band and Jazz Band. He currently plays Alto and Tenor Saxophone in Alternative Rock band Gnarly Karma, and serves as an Audio Engineer and Composer at Montclair Records. Michael Lazarus previously worked at record label Wind-up Records in NYC under Marketing Manager/A&R Chris Graham and later developed a passion for Recording & Mixing- earning him a reputation as a quick-witted, efficient, and creative Audio Engineer. He is currently the Producer for Gnarly Karma and played a crucial role in the recording and production of their debut album, “Classic Breeze” while also working as a Booking Agent and Representative for the EarWaxx Sessions, a popular artist showcase in Long Island, NY. Jayson Klein is an all-around business and marketing guru, with past work experience at both Disney and Yext, a heavyweight in the realm of Digital Marketing and SEO. He serves as the Director of Business/Studio Manager at Montclair Records, where he plays a key role in the booking and event hosting aspects of the business. He also utilizes his sales and marketing expertise to help promote the artists who work with Montclair.

Their goal is to create a world wide family of up & coming indie brands who are looking to engage in networking & cross promotion. Established in July of 2014, the platform has grown from a mere vision to the largest creative arts event on Long Island. In addition to highlighting artistic progression, they promote social change by collaborating with organizations such as Long Island Cares, emphasizing the importance of community building.
