Great Neck, NY (Jun 12, 2015) The Gold Coast Arts Center, a non-for-profit visual arts center, is open year-round to promote and support the arts through education, exhibition, performance and outreach. This summer’s offering including a wide range of summer programs and live events for kids and adults. New classes for the summer include Teen Fencing and Music and Movement, a class where students will learn guitar, percussion and keyboard. In addition, classes are offered in art, ceramics, dance, theater, chess and music. Other summer offerings include original exhibitions in GCAC’s free public art gallery plus live events and film screenings. What makes Gold Coast’s School For the Arts so special is their incredibly talented and accomplished instructors, which include: Singer, pianist and composer ROBERT HOFFMANN, an award winning composer of over 400 songs. Hoffman’s Future Idol” class, created for GCAC, uniquely combines songwriting, recording and video technology; Other great instructors include: TINA LAMA, a singer, vocalist and string instrument performer, who regularly performs with jazz, bluegrass, rock and orchestral groups throughout North America and strives to provide individualized programs for her students based on their goals and interests; SAM DILLON, a saxophonist, woodwind player, bandleader, and composer who has been privileged to play with some of the world’s finest musicians including Al Grey, Joe Chambers and Randy Brecker. He teaches students of all ages and levels on saxophone, clarinet, flute, harmony and jazz improvisation; Vocalist, pianist and guitarist MAYA NOVA, a soulful jazz vocalist with 20 years of performing experience and 10 years of teaching experience over 3 continents: Europe, Asia and America; Guitarist GLENN MANION, who has played the guitar since 1969 and is co-founder of the group “Squeaky Clean” which specializes in presenting classic rock and roll in schools, theaters; and Cellist SHARON BERNSTEIN, who has played at leading music festivals including the NYSSA School of Orchestral Studies at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center, the Aspen Music Festival, and the Boston University Tanglewood Institute. In addition to it’s School for the Arts, the Center has many great programs for adults. The Gold Coast International Film Festival hosts film screenings and special events throughout the year. Upcoming films include Mr. Kaplan on July 1st, Summer Shorts on July 15th, Best of Enemies, an Official Selection of the 2015 Sundance Film Festival and South by Southwest Selection, on July 29th, and Learning to Drive on August 12th. About the Gold Coast Arts Center:
The Gold Coast Arts Center is a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to promoting and supporting the arts through education, exhibition, performance and outreach.
