This year we are raising funds for a student to attend the Madison Theatre Summer Film Intensive, with a scholarship being established in the name of Rocky’s own Burt Young. Mr Young will be honored that evening as well, for his dedication and life as a filmmaker and arts lover. He will also have pieces of his collection on display.

New this year?

Long Beach Schools along with the surrounding districts have the opportunity to participate in our 5th Annual “Do A Good Deed”.

Long Beach Film Institute, the non-profit arm of the LBIFF, gives back to the community by orchestrating the “Do A Good Deed Contest” open to students from 6th-12th grade. It encourages kindness, and the art of giving back, while using the creativity of video or photography. This scholarship will be given to a student who either posts a picture or 15 second video on Instagram doing something kind for someone else. They must like the @LBIFFNY page, and tag #LBIFFGD16.  They should also be able to attend Sunday Nights Festivities.
